You may well be on the way to creating the best landing page ever now. But this is completely worthless without incoming traffic. The first rule of using forums and blogs for advertising is not to Spam. This won’t get you anywhere and nine times out of ten will get you banned. Plus most people will realise it is Spam and make the effort not to look at your site even if it does seem interesting. All you need is your signature at the bottom of your text with small detail and the link to your website. You need to open a thread or start a subject that is interesting, will cause a debate and would generally catch your attention if you were to see it.
For example in one forum we wrote please review my website for improvements. The attention we got from this was amazing. I had a lot of people criticising the website and it did hurt a little at times but the important thing was that we had opened a debate. With more posts or replies the interest for this thread gained momentum. Every now and then we would add a comment to other people’s views and before long we had over 30 replies and 250 people had viewed the thread. Needless to say we had about 200 hits from this simple thread that took us no time at all and little effort.
If you see another thread that’s gaining a lot of interest, then join in with this as well. Start a debate and before you know it your involved with the best thread in the forum that will not only catch the attention of the people who are members in the forum but also guests that enter forums. In most forums guests will add up to three quarters of the traffic. You won’t get easier traffic than this! Again most forums and blogs you find at the top of search engine results will have a high google page rank so your signature links will be good for your SEO page rank. You will need to find something that suits your market as it’s not worth joining a forum or blog that concentrates on weight loss when your website focuses on loans for example.
Articles and Ezines
Some of the top results for keywords on google and yahoo will now always point to an online article or Ezine. If you can create a keyword packed article with great content and your signature affiliate link at the bottom then search engines will pick up on this and display the link to the article on well used keywords. You don’t even need your landing page with this; just send them straight to the product page. You can create an informative article with an unbiased/neutral tactic. Some free article providers will ask you to write from a 3rd parties point of view e.g. not using words like you or I. Don’t worry though as this can actually work in your favor. A viewer will read your article which looks like a professional analysis of the subject and will be just as encouraged to discover what’s in the signature link.
For example for a site like this we would advertise the growing popularity of affiliation and small businesses on the internet today. We would go on to explain how affiliation has affected some peoples lives for the better. We would write the different ways that an affiliate can make money i.e. google adsense, clickbank and amazon.com. We would make sure the title and content is rich in keywords like affiliation, small businesses, affiliate and marketing.
